Hull, now proud to be City of Culture 2017 is known for its fantastic £44 million KC Stadium, home to our Premier League Football Club, Hull City, the World Famous Humber Bridge, and The Deep Aquarium. The Mercure Hull Royal Hotel is ideally located in the heart of the city centre, connected to Hull Paragon Train and Bus Station and within easy reach of the M62 motorway.
Having been to Hull just once before, we were extremely pleased with the hotel's location and free parking in the centre of this lovely historic city.
The building still has it's original charm and is well maintained. We were placed in a Prestige suite on the second floor. We expected train noise but couldn't hear anything! The room was so much nicer than our expectations; the bath filled very quickly and was really relaxing after a day shopping and sightseeing. There were two flat screen TV's and a trendy coffee maker alongside the usual kettle and tea. The room and hotel was absolutely spotless.
We booked dinner and I must say the risotto was the best I've probably ever tasted. The house wine is perfectly acceptable and the staff were attentive and friendly. The bar menu was adapted for me to include a veggie option without any problems and breakfast on both days was warm, varied and filling. Thank you so much, we have some lovely memories.
This is about the fourth time we have stayed at the Royal and I can't praise the Staff enough! They are helpful and courteous and nothing was too much bother to them! Great position in the Town Centre/Railway Station so a great base to other nearby places! Can't wait to go again soon!
